Micropigmentation or permanent make-up (PMU) is the revolutionary method of depositing hypoallergenic organic mineral pigments beneath the skin to add permanent color. A hand-held machine punctures the skin with a very thin needle and pushes the pigment into the desired location. Sometimes permanent make-up is wrongly confused with cosmetic tattoos. The pigments used for permanent make-up are introduced less deeply into the skin layer and have a different composition from tattoo inks. Micropigmentation devices are also more refined than tattoo machines, and the techniques that are used are different.

The great benefit of permanent make-up is that it won’t smear, run or disappear. PMU is also very applicable for people with allergies to regular make-up, contact lens wearers with sensitive eyes, and people who are active in sports. The results are long lasting.

Micropigmentation has many applications, but the most popular are:

  • Eyebrows – hair stroke or shaded
  • Lips – lip liner
  • Eyes – eyeliner

PMU Eyeliner frames the eyes and makes the eyelashes appear darker, fuller, and thicker. It will shape eyes, intensify eye color, and make eyes appear brighter. Eyeliner can be applied in many styles and colors, from soft, natural looking lash enhancement to a defined line. Some clients choose both upper and lower eyeliner to suit their needs, while others feel only one area is suitable. The variations of colors, thickness and length are endless.
