Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected below the skin in order to do things such as:

  • Restore lost volume (including “sunken cheeks”) and restore facial symmetry
  • Smooth out lines around the mouth and nose (often referred to as “Marionette Lines”)
  • Diminish vertical lines around the lips
  • Enhance your lips by giving a plumped and fuller appearance
  • Help sculpt and define the jawline for more definition
  • Help fill in deep-set and/or acne scarring
  • Give the neck or hands a younger, more rejuvenated appearance

How do fillers work?

filler-img-02

As we age, our faces will naturally lose subcutaneous fat, leaving your facial muscles closer to the skin surface, resulting in smile lines, crow’s feet, and “11 lines” becoming more apparent over time. Not only this, but our skin tends to stop producing collagen and elastin, both of which contribute to that youthful look. Dermal fillers can be injected in a multitude of areas including around the eyes, the cheeks, mouth, jawline, as well as the lip for a fuller appearance. Fillers basically work by filling in and smoothing out those deep set wrinkles along the face. The ingredients are nontoxic, nonallergenic, and are compatible with your body’s natural tissues.

What are the differences between each filler?

Here at Allure, we carry two different kinds of fillers- Hyaluronic Acid Fillers and Calcium Hydroxylapatite Fillers.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally within the skin- this is what helps keep your skin plump and hydrated! HA Fillers are typically a softer gel-like substance, with results generally lasting six to twelve months before the body naturally absorbs the particles.

Calcium Hydroxylapatite

Calcium Hydroxylapatite is also a naturally occurring substance within our bodies, found primarily within the bones. In Filler form, the calcium particles are nearly microscopic and contained within a smooth gel (with a slightly firmer and thicker feel than most HA Fillers), which dissolve and stimulate collagen production over time. These results, generally speaking, last about twelve months for most clients, allowing more time between “touch up” treatments.

which filler is best

How will I know which filler is best for me?

With so many dermal fillers on the market, it can be overwhelming and nearly impossible trying to decipher which filler would be the best one for your specific needs. Since each filler can vary in terms of texture, density, and desirable injection areas, it is best to schedule a Free Consultation with one of our providers in order to properly assess which would be the best for your personal goals.
During your Free Consultation, your provider can discuss with you your desired look and assess your area(s) of concern, at which time it will be decided which product would be best to obtain your desired personal aesthetic.
After your Filler injections are completed, you can expect to see an immediate result and improvement in the treated area, with full results appearing after only about a week.

what areas

What areas can I have fillers injected?

As mentioned earlier, Fillers are used to help smooth and “fill in” deep set folds most often on the face (lips, cheeks, nose, mouth), however, fillers can also be injected in different areas of the body including the neck, hands, and even derriere!

How long do fillers last?

This will depend on which filler is used and how your body reacts, however most dermal fillers last between six and 18 months.

Results last up to 18 months.

Restylane Kysse

$699 / 1 ml syringe

Results last up to 12 months.

Restylane Kysse: Kysse has been available in international markets for a while now and has finally recently received FDA approval in the US! It’s formulation is truly one of kind, developed specifically for the lips to move with your body as you talk and move your mouth (lip fillers can sometimes have the tendency to feel uncomfortable or hard to get used to, so Kysse was made to be more “fluid” with your mouth’s continuous movements throughout the day). Additionally, according to FDA studies, Kysse is the only filler that truly lasts around 12 months in lips without any touch ups (compared to around 6 months for other fillers)!

Restylane Refyne: Restylane Refyne treats mild to moderate lines and wrinkles. Refyne integrates with your skin to help smooth out the lines that run alongside the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds and marionette lines) with the flexibility you need for natural-looking movement and expressions. While some facial treatments freeze facial muscles or make ordinary facial expressions more difficult, Refyne is particularly effective at helping to restore a more natural look when treating mild to moderate facial lines such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Refyne and Defyne are perfect for these areas around the mouth because they are more flexible and suited for areas of the face with more movement.

Restylane Refyne

$679 / 1 ml syringe

Restylane Defyne

$679 / 1 ml syringe

Results last up to 18 months.

Restylane Defyne: With a slightly firmer consistency than Refyne, Restylane Defyne is used to treat moderate to severe nasolabial folds and marionette lines “smile lines” . Designed to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid, Defyne helps smooth out deeper lines around your mouth while still allowing you look more natural through a range of facial expressions. Refyne and Defyne are perfect for these areas around the mouth because they are more flexible and suited for areas of the face with more movement.

Restylane Silk: The lips and the lines around the mouth, like other areas of the face, show signs of aging as you get older. This often results in lip thinning, lost shape and an increase in vertical lines above the lip. Restylane Silk is designed specifically to provide natural-looking results in these particular areas by using smaller, smoother hyaluronic acid particles than those used in other hyaluronic acid fillers.

Radiesse is a dermal injectable filler that contains tiny particles of calcium hydroxylapatite (a substance that occurs naturally in human bones and teeth) which is used to treat cosmetic issues such as deep facial folds, lines, and wrinkles. Radiesse can be used virtually anywhere on the body, and guidelines exist for its use to volumize and rejuvenate the skin nearly anywhere in the face, neck and décolletage, thighs, buttocks, abdomen, arms, hands, and even the elbows and knees!
