Interested in learning more about Fillers Alpharetta?
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected below the skin in order to do things such as:
- Restore lost volume (including “sunken cheeks”) and restore facial symmetry
- Smooth out lines around the mouth and nose (often referred to as “Marionette Lines”)
- Diminish vertical lines around the lips
- Enhance your lips by giving a plumped and fuller appearance
- Help sculpt and define the jawline for more definition
- Help fill in deep-set and/or acne scarring
- Give the neck or hands a younger, more rejuvenated appearance
How do fillers work?
As we age, our faces will naturally lose subcutaneous fat, leaving your facial muscles closer to the skin surface, resulting in smile lines, crow’s feet, and “11 lines” becoming more apparent over time. Not only this, but our skin tends to stop producing collagen and elastin, both of which contribute to that youthful look. Dermal fillers can be injected in a multitude of areas including around the eyes, the cheeks, mouth, jawline, as well as the lip for a fuller appearance. Fillers basically work by filling in and smoothing out those deep set wrinkles along the face. The ingredients are nontoxic, nonallergenic, and are compatible with your body’s natural tissues.
What are the differences between each filler?
Here at Allure, we carry two different kinds of fillers- Hyaluronic Acid Fillers and Calcium Hydroxylapatite Fillers.
Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally within the skin- this is what helps keep your skin plump and hydrated! HA Fillers are typically a softer gel-like substance, with results generally lasting six to twelve months before the body naturally absorbs the particles.
Calcium Hydroxylapatite is also a naturally occurring substance within our bodies, found primarily within the bones. In Filler form, the calcium particles are nearly microscopic and contained within a smooth gel (with a slightly firmer and thicker feel than most HA Fillers), which dissolve and stimulate collagen production over time. These results, generally speaking, last about twelve months for most clients, allowing more time between “touch up” treatments.
How will I know which filler is best for me?
With so many dermal fillers on the market, it can be overwhelming and nearly impossible trying to decipher which filler would be the best one for your specific needs. Since each filler can vary in terms of texture, density, and desirable injection areas, it is best to schedule a Free Consultation with one of our providers in order to properly assess which would be the best for your personal goals.
During your Free Consultation, your provider can discuss with you your desired look and assess your area(s) of concern, at which time it will be decided which product would be best to obtain your desired personal aesthetic.
After your Filler injections are completed, you can expect to see an immediate result and improvement in the treated area, with full results appearing after only about a week.
What areas can I have fillers injected?
As mentioned earlier, Fillers are used to help smooth and “fill in” deep set folds most often on the face (lips, cheeks, nose, mouth), however, fillers can also be injected in different areas of the body including the neck, hands, and even derriere!
How long do fillers last?
This will depend on which filler is used and how your body reacts, however most dermal fillers last between six and 18 months.

RESTYLANE FAMILY FILLERS
Restylane-L : Restylane is used to add volume and fullness to the skin and correct wrinkles and folds, such as lip augmentation, tear troughs (dark circles under your eyes) and nasolabial folds (smile lines).
Restylane Lyft: Used for cheek augmentation and the correction of age-related mid-face contour deficiencies, as well as moderate to severe facial folds, such as the nasolabial folds (“smile lines”). Can also be used to correct volume deficiencies in the back of the hands.
Lyft is the only hyaluronic acid filler approved by the FDA to treat both face and hands.
Restylane Kysse: Kysse has been available in international markets for a while now and has finally recently received FDA approval in the US! It’s formulation is truly one of kind, developed specifically for the lips to move with your body as you talk and move your mouth (lip fillers can sometimes have the tendency to feel uncomfortable or hard to get used to, so Kysse was made to be more “fluid” with your mouth’s continuous movements throughout the day). Additionally, according to FDA studies, Kysse is the only filler that truly lasts around 12 months in lips without any touch ups (compared to around 6 months for other fillers)!
Restylane Refyne: Restylane Refyne treats mild to moderate lines and wrinkles. Refyne integrates with your skin to help smooth out the lines that run alongside the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds and marionette lines) with the flexibility you need for natural-looking movement and expressions. While some facial treatments freeze facial muscles or make ordinary facial expressions more difficult, Refyne is particularly effective at helping to restore a more natural look when treating mild to moderate facial lines such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Refyne and Defyne are perfect for these areas around the mouth because they are more flexible and suited for areas of the face with more movement.
Restylane Defyne: With a slightly firmer consistency than Refyne, Restylane Defyne is used to treat moderate to severe nasolabial folds and marionette lines “smile lines” . Designed to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid, Defyne helps smooth out deeper lines around your mouth while still allowing you look more natural through a range of facial expressions. Refyne and Defyne are perfect for these areas around the mouth because they are more flexible and suited for areas of the face with more movement.
Restylane Silk: The lips and the lines around the mouth, like other areas of the face, show signs of aging as you get older. This often results in lip thinning, lost shape and an increase in vertical lines above the lip. Restylane Silk is designed specifically to provide natural-looking results in these particular areas by using smaller, smoother hyaluronic acid particles than those used in other hyaluronic acid fillers.
JUVEDERM FAMILY FILLERS
Juvederm XC: JUVÉDERM ® XC corrects moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the “smile lines” around the nose and mouth. JUVÉDERM ® Ultra XC is injected into areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds occur to temporarily add volume to the skin, which may give the appearance of a smoother surface. Ultra XC is an injectable gel that temporarily adds more fullness and plumps thin lips—whether your lips have thinned over time or you simply want fuller lips. JUVÉDERM ® Ultra Plus XC is also approved for smoothing and correcting moderate to severe parentheses lines, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines around the nose and mouth), in adults.
Juvederm Voluma: Voluma is designed to restore volume in the mid-facial area—the upper, mid, and lower cheeks. The filler is often used in people who have experienced volume loss in the face and cheeks either due to aging or weight loss, as it is ideal in these areas to plump and add volume. Voluma contains the thickest, strongest gel—ideal for deep injection into the cheek area to get a nice lift and volume boost.
Juvederm Volbella: Volbella is intended to be used to enhance the shape and fullness of the lips, and to soften wrinkles around the mouth. A crystal-clear gel that is injected directly into and around the lips using an ultra-fine needle to temporarily plump the lips for lip augmentation and to smooth the appearance of lines around the mouth. Volbella is also perfect for decreasing the appearance of fine lines in the fragile skin area under the eyes. Volbella contains the thinnest, most spreadable gel and is essentially a softer, more subtle way to create a more natural-looking fullness.
Juvederm Vollure: Vollure’s formula is primarily used to treat nasolabial folds, which are located between your nose and your mouth. Plus, the filler corrects deep indentations without restricting any facial movement. Juvederm Vollure is considered lighter than Voluma, but fuller than Volbella and boasts a perfect balance between the three. In most cases, it lasts up to 18 months, which is longer than many other dermal fillers on the market. Vollure combines a “happy medium” of durability and spreadability to treat desired areas while allowing for natural facial expressions and movements.
Revanesse Versa: Revanesse Versa is an excellent noninvasive treatment choice for almost anyone looking to smooth lines or treat age-related facial volume loss. Thanks to the spherical particle shape, your body will quickly accept these foreign particles and break down more slowly over time. The advanced technology makes Versa particles spherical and consistent, giving patients the perfect balance between smoothness and volume. The Revanesse Versa formula is designed to balance itself with your skin’s water content and optimize to your desired volume and replacement.
Belotero Balance: A hyaluronic acid injectable filler designed to integrate into facial skin tissue. The unique manufacturing process for Belotero Balance yields a soft and cohesive gel that, once injected, instantly fills the skin to help smooth moderate-to-severe etched-in lines and vertical lip lines. This injectable gel blends into the natural structure of your skin, gently creating a smooth, natural look and feel. Belotero’s lower density makes it a better option for filling much finer lines and wrinkles than other HA fillers.
Radiesse: Radiesse works in two distinct ways:
For the first three months, Radiesse acts as a cosmetic filler, providing immediate results of plumped, voluminous skin and diminished appearance of fine lines at the injection site.
Following the initial first few months, the unique Radiesse formula begins to dissolve, stimulating your own collagen production around the injection area (collagen occurs naturally in the body and is responsible for skin’s strength, suppleness and elasticity).
Radiesse is a dermal injectable filler that contains tiny particles of calcium hydroxylapatite (a substance that occurs naturally in human bones and teeth) which is used to treat cosmetic issues such as deep facial folds, lines, and wrinkles. Radiesse can be used virtually anywhere on the body, and guidelines exist for its use to volumize and rejuvenate the skin nearly anywhere in the face, neck and décolletage, thighs, buttocks, abdomen, arms, hands, and even the elbows and knees!
Radiesse for skin rejuvenation: Hyperdiluted Radiesse Treatment! Skin rejuvenation procedure for larger areas of the body have increased substantially in recent years. Dermal rejuvenation to improve skin quality and firmness can now be treated with the use of hyperdiluted Radiesse for the face, neck, décolletage, buttocks, thighs, arm, abdomen, knee, and elbow. Also works great to reduce appearance of cellulite and stretch marks. Skin tightening with progressive, natural, and discrete volume gains provide more natural results while improving the quality of the skin.
For people wanting cosmetic treatment
With fillers quickly becoming the ideal treatment for people wanting cosmetic treatments quickly and safely, products have swept the market. Having so many different options out there may make the process of choosing the right filler daunting. Fillers are made up of different ingredients and produce different effects. They do have one common denominator, however, and that is to fill in lines and wrinkles, restoring volume to the face. Here at Allure Aesthetic Center we make sure our clients understand exactly what they are doing with clear expectations. Let’s observe one of the fillers that we offer here at our medical spa: Juvederm.
What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler product that has been FDA approved since 2006. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar that is commonly found throughout the body. Because of this, Juvederm and other hyaluronic acid fillers are usually tolerated well, unlike procedures that introduce foreign substances into the body.
What Areas of the Face can Juvederm be Used?
Juvederm is used in the face, primarily in the lips, midface such as cheeks, as well as fine lines around the mouth. Commonly you will see Juvederm used for:
- Nasolabial folds or “smile lines,” that extend from the nose to the outer corners of the mouth.
- Marionette lines or lines that extend from the corner of the mouth down to the chin area.
- Vertical lip lines commonly referred to as “smokers lines”.
- Lip and cheek volume.
Currently, we here at Allure Aesthetic Center offer five different forms of Juvederm
- Juvederm Ultra: helps to add fullness to the lips
- Juvederm Ultra Plus: helps to smooth smile lines from nose to mouth and marionette lines
- Juvederm Voluma: is a mid face filler designed to treat cheek and surrounding areas to correct volume loss
- Juvederm Vollure: is an alternative to Juvederm Ultra Plus with increased longevity
- Juvederm Volbella: is an alternative to Juvederm Ultra with the added benefit of smoothing out vertical lines above and below the lip (“smokers lines”)
How Long Does Juvederm Last and When Can I See Results
Results from Juvederm can be seen immediately, however swelling and bruising may occur so final results will be seen 2-5 days post treatment. How long the product lasts depends on the Juvederm filler used as well as area injected. On average, you can expect Juvederm results to last from 4 months up to two years.
Common side effects
Common side effects include, but are not limited to: Swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, lumps or bumps, minor pain, itching, discoloration
If you do experience any of these side effects they should subside within one to two weeks after the injection. To reduce the possibility of an adverse reaction, patients should avoid strenuous activity, sun exposure, and alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours post-treatment. Arnica is also a great supplement to use before and after the procedure and we offer both pills and cream here at Allure Aesthetic Center.
*In very rare cases, injectable fillers can result in complications such as permanent scarring, visual impairment, or stroke. To ensure your safety always make sure that the medical provider who performs your procedure is trained, certified, licensed and insured.
