CO2 laser resurfacing
The Phoenix CO2 Laser System is an advanced multi-purpose system that targets a myriad of concerns. One of the most effective functions it can perform is eliminating hyperpigmentation (dark/brown spots) from the face and body (hands are the most requested body area), as well as targeting issues of fine lines and wrinkles. It works by heating up the surface layer of skin via the disbursement of gentle beams of infrared light which is easily absorbed by our water-rich facial tissues, while simultaneously heating the lower levels of skin to stimulate a rapid production of collagen and elastin, leaving fresh rejuvenated skin in its place. With more collagen, the skin is able to withstand damage more effectively and look younger for longer periods of time.
Using a computerized pattern generator and a new scanning algorithm, thermal heat is dispersed within the epidermis while evenly treating damaged areas. This particular algorithm dramatically reduces pain, the need for anesthesia, and recovery time. Topical numbing cream is also applied to help minimize any discomfort.
Achieving dramatic improvements without surgery to address discoloration/hyperpigmentation, superficial skin blemishes, sun damage, skin laxity, and aging.
Depending on the area being treated. ~ 90 minutes
Treated skin will have a reddish hue and will be tender and textured. The skin may also be slightly swollen. Ice packs and non-prescription pain medications will help with any discomfort. As the healing process progresses, skin will be similar to a sunburn with a brownish tint, with the top layer of skin eventually sloughing off completely leaving pink skin in its place, which will continue to improve within a few days. Full healing time can last anywhere from 7-14 days.
